“Speaking For Trees” Exhibit Update – Good News!

Chestnuts,

3 Speaking for the Trees FACT SHEET Sept 2020 3

Tree Show Update : We have good news that our “Speaking for the Trees” exhibit is still on for the Gordon Jewish Community Center (JCC) for the month of September. Pandemic precautions prevent their hosting an opening reception, but they will be open for visitors to view the show with a 10-person limit in the gallery.

The updated “Fact Sheet” is posted above. Please read it.

Because the JCC’s gallery space can only display 60 paintings, we are limited to asking for one submittal per Chestnut member. The first 60 Title Block submissions will comprise the show.

Plans are also being explored to post the displayed work on a website. Images and prices will be listed. Because online buyers will want to see frames, we are requiring that the image you submit with the Title Block info shows the frame on the painting. Submittals not showing the frame will not be eligible to hang in the exhibit.

To allow sufficient time to have the online site in place when the show opens in early September, the deadline for receiving Title Block submissions is Friday, August 7th. To submit, you must log into the Chestnut site as a member, go to “Members” tab, scroll down to the Title Block submittal tab.

Please get your best tree painting registered soon. Thank you for working with us as we explore expanding an online marketing element to this somewhat unique show. Please join the Nashville Tree Conservation Corps, JCC, and the Chestnuts in promoting this collaboration and getting the word out about supporting local initiatives to better preserve the environmental resource trees provide to middle Tennessee.
