5 WEEKS LEFT BEFORE RADNOR LAKE DEADLINE

Homestretch for Radnor

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

Paint outs, full moon party, fall forecast, and other last minute information as the Radnor deadline draws near.

  • With just under 5 weeks left to complete paintings for the Radnor show, time is of the essence! Title block entries are due by midnight, Wednesday October 27th – https://chestnutgroup.org/title-block-submission/
  • During these final weeks, Brigitte and I will check the weather forecast weekly, and post suggestions for the best days to paint. Hopefully one or both of us will be there as well. Please check the Facebook group page for the most up to date info.
  • Mark your calendars, the last full moon paint out opportunity is October 20th. Specific details will follow.
  • Looks like fall is here! We’ve had a rainy last few days, but beginning today, the weather outlook looks beautiful with sunny skies and high 70 degree temperatures into the next week. Cautiously optimistic for great fall weather.
  • The fall foliage forecast for October in Nashville is patchy and progressing to near peak. Perfect time to paint at Radnor.
  • All Chestnuts are invited to a sneak preview of the show on Wednesday 11/3 from 4pm-6pm. This is a wonderful opportunity for participating artists to see the show before any sales take place.
  • We will be accepting 100% donated paintings for the silent auction portion of the show. This is a great way to have your work noticed and name recognized by art patrons. The silent auction kick off is at the VIP invitation only Patron Party Thursday evening November 4th, and will end Sunday afternoon November 7th.
  • Information cards about the show are available at the Visitor Center in the rack just inside the door. Please stop by and pick up a few to pass out while painting on location.
  • The Fact Sheet is updated periodically and will detail all of the specifics related to the show including – submission numbers, subject matter, framing, title block submissions, drop off and pick up times etc – https://chestnutgroup.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/2021-Radnor-Lake_Fact-Sheet-8-11-21.pdf
  • Volunteer sign-ups, we need your help!  Please consider volunteering your time – https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c48ada82ba6f8c43-2021
  • New Virtual Show! We will continue painting sales virtually after the in-person show, and until the end of November. The jpeg image will be required on the title block entry form. More details to come that will provide hints and instructions for capturing an image and submitting the digital file.
  • A BIG thank you to everyone who’ve already committed their time, especially Ellen Bibb and Suzannah Green for their marketing and PR work and managing Dropbox!!
  • For The Chestnut Group to be welcomed by Radnor Lake staff and FORL to come paint in this treasured Natural Area, it is both an honor and a privilege. Help us ensure that this opportunity continues for many years and hopefully many shows to come by reviewing and abiding by the Park Rules and Regulations – http://radnorlake.org/the-park/park-rules-and-regulations/

Brigitte and I urge you to get out to paint, even if you are unable to join us during scheduled times. It is a wonderful time of year to be immersed in the wonders of this Nashville gem! Please let us know if you have any questions.
