The Battle of Franklin Trust

A 501(c)(3), the trust manages two historic sites in Franklin, Tennessee, that witnessed the 1864 Battle of Franklin: The Carter House and Carnton. Organized for the charitable and educational purposes of preserving the property, artifacts, and documents related to the battle, the group is dedicated to understanding and sharing the story of a people forever impacted by the American Civil War.

The Hermitage: Home of President Andrew Jackson

Located in Nashville, the nonprofit Andrew Jackson Foundation endeavors to increase the understanding of the complex life and times of Andrew Jackson, connect history to events of today, and to inspire citizenship and national pride through effective preservation, interpretation, exhibition, education, research and publication. The Hermitage opened in 1889 and is one of the oldest and largest site museums in the U.S.

Friends of Warner Parks

Friends of Warner Parks works closely with Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation to leverage volunteer, partnership and philanthropic efforts to care for the Parks. Established in 1987 and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Friends works to protect the natural and historical integrity of the area by supporting appropriate recreational activities, maintaining the inspirational park features, and promoting programs encouraging appreciation and park.

Cumberland River Compact

This 501(c)3, nonprofit organization, works to enhance the health and enjoyment of the Cumberland River and its tributaries in Tennessee and Kentucky. Established in 1997 its mission is simple: Teach. Protect. Connect. Through education, collaboration and action, Cumberland River Compact improves the quality of water in the basin, and improves the quality of life in the basin’s communities by supporting life, recreation and economic well-being.

Friends of Radnor Lake

Friends, 501(c)3, nonprofit organization works to protect, preserve and promote the natural integrity of Radnor Lake through land acquisition, environmental education, and park support. Radnor Lake State Natural Area is part of Tennessee’s state park system, and Friends of Radnor Lake is one of the system’s oldest and most successful nonprofit support groups. Focusing primarily on environment and research, Friends advocates for understanding the impact wildlife and humans have on the environment.

The Nature Conservancy

The Conservancy has protected more than 300,000 acres across Tennessee and has facilitated the creation, or expansion, of 29 State Natural Areas, 12 State Wildlife Management Areas, and two National Wildlife Refuges. The Nature Conservancy’s mission is to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends now and for generations to come. The Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and has worked to advance conservation around the world since 1951.

Greenways for Nashville

Working with the Metro Parks Department and the Greenways Commission, Greenways for Nashville advocates for the preservation and creation of greenways in Nashville and Davidson County, and works to protect natural and cultural areas; develop community recreational opportunities; and acquire land to preserve as greenways and parks. Since the group’s inception in 1994, the non-profit 501(c)(3) organization has assisted in developing 86 miles of trail footprint, acquired 4,266 acres of land for conservation, and protected 11,000 acres of land from development.

The Harpeth Conservancy

Founded in 1999 as the Harpeth River Watershed Association, the group’s recent name change reflects their updated mission; to restore and protect clean water and healthy ecosystems for rivers in Tennessee by employing scientific expertise and collaborative relationships to develop, promote and support broad community stewardship and action. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Conservancy works with landowners, businesses, community, local, state and federal decision makers to foster solutions that reduce pollution and maintain healthy areas, and championed by Tennesseans.

The Frist Center for the Visual Arts

Opened in 2001, the Frist Center is a magnet for Nashville’s rapidly expanding visual arts scene. The Center is not only an important cultural focal point for the community, it is also a significant architectural structure and historic landmark in downtown Nashville. The Center is dedicated to presenting the finest visual art from local, regional, national and international sources in a program of changing exhibitions. The Frist Center for the Visual Arts, Inc. is classified as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Nashville Tree Conservation Corps

Nashville Tree Conservation Corps has a vision to change the culture of Nashville to appreciate the urban tree canopy of our great city and to help make citizens more knowledgeable about Nashville’s trees, of their many benefits, and of the tree-related city policies and procedures used to maintain them. We dream of a future in Nashville where all people — not just individual citizens but businesses and metro agencies alike — care tremendously about the trees that grow in our city.

Centennial Park Conservancy underwrites Parthenon programming and presents and funds a variety of primarily free events that support our mission and make a positive impact on our community.
