VOLUNTEERS needed for Greenways Show!

Dear Chestnuts,

Volunteers are what makes our Spring and Fall shows a success!

Please read this message from Show Set-up Chair, Ed Routon, to learn more about why we need you!

Eight Reasons to Join the Show Setup Team

Become a member of The Chestnut Group’s Show Setup Team and you’ll:

1. Learn about organizing art shows: planning, transporting, setting up, and arranging art exhibits.

2. Gain knowledge about display equipment, artwork lighting, traffic flow, and special setups and displays surrounding patron events.

3. Build friendships with fellow Chestnuts; meet potential Plein air paint buddies.

4. Get in your Chestnut volunteer time while you’re learning the ropes. Remember, as a volunteer organization, we support and depend on each other to keep this unique operation going. Cars run on gas. The Chestnut Group runs on volunteers.

5. Spend three hours or so of moderate physical activity and burn some calories, wake up some energy, and build some muscle.

6. Enjoy being part of a team, of fellow artists no less, working together to turn empty space into highly attractive art exhibits that help generate sales to benefit: 1) our non-profit partners, 2) our fellow artist members, and 3) The Chestnut Group operating budget.

7. Groom yourself to become a Setup Team Leader. Learn the ins and outs of setting up shows and add to your volunteer experience. Prepare to someday take on the important leadership role of Show Chairperson.

8. Think of it as Community Service with a ripple effect: you’re volunteering to help a non-profit, that’s helping to support other non-profits, that are helping to protect and preserve our beautiful landscapes, and that are affording you with incredible subject matter to paint on canvas! One of those win -win-win opportunities — gratifying and productive volunteer time well spent!

If you’re interested in benefiting from being a member of the Show Setup Team, simply sign up on the Greenways Sign Up Genius volunteer form, or contact Ed Routon at erouton@bellsouth.net or Dale Finley at dalefinley@comcast.net for more information. All experience levels are welcomed!
