Aviary Tours at Radnor Lake

Radnor Lake Rangers will give private tours for Chestnut members at the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center. Last month, three new eagles were introduced to the public during the Eagle Day open house event. Two bald eagles are housed in the park’s new 38-foot-tall netted flighted aviary enclosure. A new golden eagle has its own enclosure, similar to the ones that serve as home to an immature bald eagle, a great horned owl, a black vulture, and a red tailed hawk. During the tour, members will be able to take close-up photos, sketch, and/or paint these incredible non-releasable birds. The attending Ranger will take at least one bird out of its aviary for closer view.
