Six Chestnut Members Juried into AIS 16th Annual National Juried Exhibition!
The American Impressionist Society, Inc. defines American Impressionism as the concern for light on form, color, and brushstrokes. It allows equal latitude between these attributes, and recognizes not a single definitive element, but several factors–including high key light and hue, visual breakdown of detail, concern for contemporary life, and cultivation of direct and spontaneous approaches to a subject. The group’s goal is “To promote the appreciation of Impressionism through exhibitions, workshops and other media.”
Out of 1,449 works submitted to this year’s exhibition, 180 works were juried in this year, 6 of which are Chestnut members!
The artwork will be on display at Trailside Galleries in Scottsdale, Arizona from October 1st through 29th. The opening reception on Thursday, October 15th.
