REMINDER: Warner Paint out and hike – this Sat, Nov 23rd!
DON’T FORGET TO RSVP!
Paint out & hike in the Old Growth Forest in Warner Park!
9:00am – 12:00pm
We have 8 people signed up so far! Vera Roberts, Warner Parks Nature Center Director, will lead us into the forest for a unique opportunity to paint areas regularly closed to the public.
Important note from Vera Roberts about the Old Growth Forest:
We will meet at 9 a.m. and return by noon. Everyone needs to stay together, so folks who want to come paint that day will need to plan to be there for the entire time. The property is RUGGED. There are NO trails, and painters will need to carry all of their supplies in and out. I recommend wearing long pants, hiking shoes/boots, and bring water and possibly a snack. Hiking poles are helpful if you have them. If we do not have a freeze before Nov. 23, then folks will also need to expect the possibility of chiggers/ticks and even yellowjackets. I will have insect repellent and a first aid kit with me. If anyone has a known allergy to stings and needs an epi pen, I recommend they bring it along and let me know when they arrive.
In case of rain, we will cancel. This also applies to a HEAVY rain within 12-24 hours prior to this outing.
