Come to the Forgotten Coast to be surrounded by an abundance of undisturbed nature scenes to relax and paint. SGI is a plein air painter’s paradise! Enjoy the local vibe of old Florida the way it was before tourism changed most beach destinations. Dive into a slow pace to relax, renew and re-create. Your getaway includes most meals, yoga on the beach, a dolphin encounter, and a paddle board lesson in the bay by a local instructor.
On the island of St. George, nature rules. You will not see buildings over three stories, chain restaurants or grocery stores, and there is no traffic to contend with. Apalachicola is a scenic twenty minutes away, and we will conclude our retreat with an art crawl and a stop at their famous chocolate shop.
Our old Florida style home in St. George has eight bedrooms and four baths with two kitchens and numerous places inside and out to create, including a covered gazebo. Our home is situated on nearly a half acre of oceanfront grounds, so the feeling of spaciousness on the beach is felt in a way most of us never get to experience.
By popular request, Angela has recently announced a bonus session, Intro to Mindful Abstract Painting. As an abstract artist, motivational speaker and the best-selling author of Finding the Gift: Daily Meditations for Mindfulness, Angela will share how she uses abstract art to sink into the present moment to find joy and rest. She will share her tips and tricks for building texture using various acrylic-friendly mediums and random household items. Observation for retreat attendees is free. If you want Angela to bring materials for your participation in this session, a nominal supply fee will apply.
Paint, Paddle & Play will begin on Tuesday, September 12, with arrivals between 2-4 pm, and end on a Sunday, September 17, with departures at your leisure, at or before 2 pm.

There is one remaining oceanfront king bedroom, where you can see gorgeous sunrise and sunset skies plus dolphins fishing, while lying in bed! Because of so few city lights, you can also fall asleep in the ocean front rooms gazing at a star-filled sky that starts at the horizon. Grab this last oceanfront room now!
