“The Colors of Shelby” show was a real success!!
Thanks to all who participated and signed up to volunteer – show recap coming soon!

Now that the Shelby show is (barely) in our rear-view mirror, it’s time to start thinking ahead to the Warner Parks show.

Mark your calendars for a Paint out in the Old Growth Forest in Warner Park!
Sat, Nov 23rd
9:00am – 12:00pm
Meet at Hill Forest Property
(park on the asphalt road/circle drive)
Directions, click HERE
Vera Roberts, Warner Parks Nature Center Director, will lead us into the forest for a unique opportunity to paint areas regularly closed to the public.

Important note from Vera Roberts about the Old Growth Forest:

We will meet at 9 a.m. and return by noon.  Everyone needs to stay together, so folks who want to come paint that day will need to plan to be there for the entire time.  The property is RUGGED. There are NO trails, and painters will need to carry all of their supplies in and out.  I recommend wearing long pants, hiking shoes/boots, and bring water and possibly a snack.  Hiking poles are helpful if you have them. If we do not have a freeze before Nov. 23, then folks will also need to expect the possibility of chiggers/ticks and even yellowjackets.  I will have insect repellent and a first aid kit with me.  If anyone has a known allergy to stings and needs an epi pen, I recommend they bring it along and let me know when they arrive.

In case of rain, we will cancel.  This also applies to a HEAVY rain within 12-24 hours prior to this outing.

Sign up for Paint outs HERE!

Also, it looks like the next couple of weeks will be great weather, and the colors are really starting to pop. The view across the golf course to the colorful hills is lovely, and there are some great spots near the picnic shelters and along the roads. Take a buddy or post on the FB group to see if someone can go with you.

Since it’s a spring show, much of our painting time before the show will be in the winter waiting for greens to appear.
Why not get out and catch some of this lovely fall color?

Even if you can just do a few quick color studies now, those can turn into larger paintings over the winter months!!
