New! Quick and Easy Way to Submit Your Title Block Information!

Announcing The Chestnut Group’s new process for submitting title block information. [For our new members, a “Title Block” is the card placed next a painting when displayed in an exhibit that tells the title of the painting, the artist’s name, the medium, the size, and the price.]  This new submission process is effective immediately, with the Radnor show being our first live run! These new procedures will help simplify and streamline what has historically been a cumbersome, time-consuming process.

Here are the simple steps required for entering your title block information (link and steps also found on Resources page):

  1. Click on this link and an entry form will open: Radnor Lake Title Blocks
  2. Fill in the form completely, carefully proof the information you have entered, and then click Submit.
  3. After you click Submit, you will be prompted to Submit Another Response. If you have an additional painting to submit, click and repeat the form completion process again. Repeat these steps for each additional painting you have for the show. That’s all there is to it!

(A note regarding the Price entry: For a 100% donated painting, enter the price that you would set for a regular painting (i.e., a non-100% donated painting). This price will be the “artist assigned price” which will serve as the market value used in Radnor’s silent auction.)

The day after you submit your title block information, you’ll receive an email from Denise Hawkins verifying the completeness and accuracy of the title block information that you submitted.

This is another reminder that the deadline for title block entry for the Radnor show is Midnight, Saturday, October 31st.

Also, artists still need to complete and attach “Hanging Painting Labels” on the front and back of each of their paintings (attachment instructions on the label form). These labels are used during the check-in of paintings at shows and for matching paintings with title blocks once they have been hung in the exhibit area. See the “Hanging Painting Labels” link (PDF file) on the Resources page to print copies of this form.

A special thanks: to Tiffany Foss for suggesting a potential new way to enter and organize the title block information, to Denise Hawkins for exploring, tinkering with, and testing the process — and for serving in the role of cleaning up the data and handling the title block verification follow up with members, to Kathy Brashears for her previous role as Chief Title Blocker, for her ideas and technical prowess, and for working closely with Denise to “marry the old with the new”, and to new member Maggie Gilchrist for her willingness to jump in and format the information and print the title blocks. And of course to Andrea Jones for cracking the whip to get it done, and done right. What a team!
