Kevin Menck 6 Week Landscape Classes Are Back!

6 Week Landscape Oil Painting Classes are back!
June 16, 3015 – July 21, 2015
Tuesday evenings, 6-9pm

Whether this is your first time at the easel or you’re a seasoned pro, Kevin’s classes are a great way to work out issues you’re struggling with in your landscapes or learn the basics to becoming a good artist!

With Kevin’s assistance, you’ll learn to plan your painting by building an effective composition. From there, you’ll learn to properly assess values, express distance effectively and use a variety of brushstrokes to create soft edges where necessary and lead viewers through the story of your painting.

Mastering the basic principles of composition, drawing, and values and color harmony are vital to every artists development. It is so easy to skim over and hope that things will work on your canvas. But without these primary tools in hand, no matter the subject matter, your paintings will fail to please. Kevin’s guidance will help new artists build a solid painting foundation. Experience artists will find valuable information in overcoming the obstacles that are hindering their progress.

Artists must provide their own materials including:
Easel set up/paint palette
Paper Towels
Mineral spirits (no turpentine please)
Brushes (a variety is good to achieve unique and varied brushstrokes)
Paint (Kevin uses a limited palette of cad scarlet, cad lemon, ultramarine blue, and titanium white) Please bring the paint you normally use. It is not necessary to buy specific colors)
Canvas (8×10, 9×12 or 11×14 panels are fine)
Palette knife
