Join this Saturday’s PYHO at Harpeth River Greenway
Finding the Compositional Bones in Basic Landscapes
Join us for a captivating Plein Air workshop led by landscape architect and artist Judson Newbern and artist Jessica Lewis. Immerse yourself in nature at the Morton Mill Trailhead at the Harpeth River Greenway, exploring diverse sites amongst the small lake and the Harpeth River. In this 3-hour session, you’ll discover the art of mark making, composition planning, interpreting foliage, and creating atmospheric perspective in your drawings. Judson and Jessica will guide you in finding the compositional bones of basic landscapes, ensuring you can translate 3-D scenery into compelling 2-D artwork.
With a limited group of 12 participants, this half-day workshop promises an enriching experience for both beginners and seasoned artists. Don’t miss the chance to bring your sketches to life back in the studio from the inspiration gathered in these picturesque locations.
This is a great opportunity to prepare for our spring show, “Painting the Greenways” on April 25 – 28th.
