Invitation to Participate in Cheekwood’s Art Exhibit

Hello Chestnuts,

Our beloved Cheekwood has invited our group to participate in their En Plein Air art exhibit which begins July 2 to September 6. This is a great opportunity for us as a group to show our works and for you individual members to get recognition during the two months. Thousands of people will see this exhibit.

Below is a letter from their curator, Campbell Mobley, with all the pertinent details. You are being invited to paint any day for a month, observing our Leave No Trace Policy under Plein Air Artist Resources on our Website.

This is not a Chestnut Group exhibit, but one Cheekwood is hosting.

Contact Rachel Blair if you are interested in participating or have any questions. 615-504-7201

The following is from Campbell Mobley:

Dear Artists,

As Nashville enters into phase one of reopening, we have a few solidified dates for En Plein Air. From May 22 – June 21, you will have free access to Cheekwood. “The Chestnut Group” will be on the list at the gate and you will be able to come and go, as you please. We ask all of our visitors to wear masks and to practice social distancing. Once you begin working and are away from anyone, we completely understand temporarily removing your mask for comfort. You can use the restrooms in Botanic Hall/Visitor Services Center. The Mansion and Frist Learning Center will be closed. For your own ease, I wanted to let you know that our normal visitors will be able to enter Cheekwood through timed-tickets as to not overcrowd the estate. There are 55-acres and plenty of beautiful views for you all to capture. Below, please see the timeline for the installation of the show.
