Greenways for Nashville upcoming event; Call for Artists
The Greenways for Nashville are pleased to invite the Chestnut Group members to apply to participate in “Dinner on the Bridge” event on October 1, 2015.
The Greenways for Nashville would like to invite 10 Chestnut member artists to plein air paint from the Shelby Street pedestrian bridge on October 1, 2015 to be completed by 7:00pm. The group would like to ask that the painting includes the bridge in some way. Painters can paint from the bridge or the shoreline.
The created piece will then be auctioned at the event. The cocktail hour for the event is between 6 and 7pm, with dinner beginning at 7pm. The auction begins at 7pm. The Greenways group would love for the artists to stay for the silent auction in order to speak with guests about your paintings, inspiration, and personal background. The created piece will be displayed on your easel, (no frame required).
The piece can be any size / price. Variety in price is encouraged.
Rain plan for painters is in the works, and will be determined prior to the event.
Greenways for Nashville will coordinate auction of item. The split for sold action piece will be at standard Chestnut show split:45% partner / 45% artist /10% Chestnut Group. As always, any commissioned pieces that originate from this event or any Chestnut event should also be processed through the partner with the above splits.
The Chestnut Group will take the first 15 artists that respond to submit work to the Greenways for Nashville for selection. Please notify Tiffany Foss, fosshouse@comcast.net, of your intent to apply to the event. The first responding 15 Artists – as received by Tiffany Foss- shall submit three .jpg examples of plein air works / sizes / prices to Tiffany Foss who will assemble and turn over all information to the Greenways for Nashville coordinator in an anonymous (numbered) fashion for selection.
The Greenways for Nashville will then ‘jury’ 10 artists to participate. The other 5 artists will be maintained on a ‘waiting list’ in the instance that an artist cannot participate. Please note that The Chestnut Group does not jury their own artists. Notification will come from the Greenways for Nashville, as well as coordination information.
