Wednesday, October 20, 2021
Sunset 6:04pm, Moonrise 6:22pm
Dam Walkway at Radnor Lake
Join us for a great evening painting a full moon nocturne at Radnor Lake. So far, the weather looks good! Partly cloudy, with a low of 55, winds light. Steve Ward has scheduled us to exit the park at 8pm. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Beginners and advanced painters alike are encouraged to attend.
- Plan to park in the West Parking Lot at The Visitor Center, or along the left side of Otter Creek Rd up the hill toward the Dam Walkway.
- The official moonrise time is 6:22pm. Plan your time for set up accordingly.
- Opportunity to paint a late afternoon painting. Sunset is 6:04pm, so you might consider coming earlier (4pm or 5pm) to paint the sunset before the full moonrise.
- Reminder – please remember our ‘leave no trace’ practices. No food is allowed, and be extra careful if you bring solvents.
- The entrance gate to the west parking lot closes at 9pm for incoming traffic. The gate is sensor-operated for outgoing traffic.
In addition to your plein air gear, be sure to bring a portable light for your easel, an additional layer of clothing, bug spray, a flashlight etc.
RSVP: Please email Brigitte or Donna if you plan to come, and include your cell number. Feel free to contact us as well with any questions.
The picture below is a view of the moonrise oriented at Radnor Lake for 10/20. Setting up along the Dam Walkway will provide a wonderful opportunity for viewing.
