EXCITING NEWS FOR SUNDAY

EXCITING NEWS FOR SUNDAY
I am very excited to bring to your attention, the occurrence of the Hunter’s Moon on Sunday, October 13!  This bright orange moon will reach its peak on Sunday at 4:08pm, although it will appear full for a day before and after. Sunset is at 6:14pm so there should be an abundance of light and color for a couple hours.
Because the moon is rising near sunset, the sky will strangely appear to have two suns. This is a phenomenon that is not to be missed! Come to paint, come to take pictures, or just come to watch, the weather forecast looks spectacular! Abundant sunshine, and a high near 70.
The sunset is best observed from the east side of the lake, but feel free to set up wherever you’d like. I plan to set up on the observation deck, which will provide a nice view from the north. Find the observation deck by crossing the dam walkway, passing the canoe launch area, and following the trail to the right and north of the lake.
Meet me at the top of Otter Creek Rd (you will pass the Visitor Center lot on the left) at 3pm if you’d like to walk together. Park as close to the top of Otter Creek as you can. Hopefully, the crowds will have subsided by that time.
Please note that cell service is very spotty. Also be aware that the park closes 30 minutes after dusk.
