LANDSCAPE, Design and Execution
May 17-22nd, 2020
Spend time unlocking your natural design skills in this 5 night – 4 day workshop retreat. You will have the opportunity to focus completely on painting the landscape. Three meals a day and lodging at the historic Fort Lewis Lodge are included. There will be time for independent plein air painting as well as many hours of instruction (so it is importantthat you are comfortable painting en plein air).
The class size will be between 10 and 14 for maximum individual help. This is planned as a total immersion experience; the day will start early and go into the evening, with breaks for meals. .
The class begins on May 17th with dinner at the lodge, followed by an introduction to the class. The farewell breakfast on May 22 will cap off the week. This class includes a booklet of notes, as well as on-line mentoring after the class is over.
Fort Lewis Lodge is a historic landmark situated on 3300 scenic acres in the mountains of Bath County, west of Richmond, VA. The Lodge offers expansive wide-open vistas, wooded walking trails, as well as intimate scenes. The diverse rural scenery provides endless subject matter for plein air paintings including, but not limited to, barns, fields, gardens, and ponds.
