Cumberland River Compact event this Thursday!
Hello Chestnuts!
We have an opportunity THIS THURSDAY to be present at the Cumberland River Compact’s “Hellbender Cocktail Party” event. This event is rain or shine and held under a large tent at the Bridge Building. We are able to borrow 2-3 of their panels to hang paintings to be available for sale that night. We could also photograph the panels to be able to allow the work to be seen and available after that night as well via social media sharing.https://www.cumberlandrivercompact.org/events/hellbender/
The look of our event with the Cumberland River Compact will be changing this fall. We will not be having a large show like we have done in the past. Due to logistical issues, we will be having a longer exhibition that will be held in their group space and hung on their existing exhibit walls. Logistics are yet to be finalized but wall space will be available for us to hang work and rotate it to allow for more paintings to be included. As we know more, we will update everyone. Please continue to paint for the show, featuring paintings from the Cumberland River watershed including waterways, Middle Tennessee scenes, urban areas etc.
Do any of you all have a framed Middle Tennessee (Cumberland River watershed) paintings ready to be able to include for the event THIS THURSDAY? We would love to include your work! We can’t accommodate a lot of paintings but would love to feature the diversity of our member’s work. You can also submit work that you had put in our previous show with them. The work would then be returned after the event. This is a first come / first participate opportunity, as Chestnuts we don’t jury our work.
If you are able to provide work, please email Tiffany AND Jane: fosshouse@gmail.com coblejane@gmail.com and one of us can arrange for painting pick up or drop off. We would need all the information about the work sent to us as well as included on the standard Chestnut title block attached to the back of the paintings.
We also need the help of 2 more people to engage with attendees about our group and the work, watch over the panels and direct folks if they want to purchase. The attendees of this event are younger and may not have heard of our group. If you can help, please email or call/text us as well — 615-294-6091 Tiffany or 615-969-1468 Jane. The event is between 5:30-sunset. Set up will start at 3:00pm.
