Chestnut Shirley Fachilla Awarded Best of Show!
Shirley’s oil, All Her Worldly Possessions, was awarded Best of Show by Awards Judge Robert Hagberg OPA during the opening reception for Viewpoint 47 at Eisele Gallery in Cincinnati on Friday evening, October 2nd.
Viewpoint 47 is a national juried show sponsored by the Cincinnati Art Club. This year’s show also marked the club’s 125 anniversary, an event celebrated by the new venue at Eisele (Eisele Gallery was the host for the 2014 Oil Painters of America national show) and special commemorative Rookwood plagues for award winners in addition to the show’s usual monetary awards.
The 90 works included in the exhibit were selected by a distinguished panel of jurors made up of: Dr. Julie Aronson, Curator at the Cincinnati Art Museum; Ken Emerick, Director of Grants for the Ohio Arts Council and Paige Williams, professor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.
The exhibition will continue on view through October 31.
