Chestnut Group “First Saturday Art Crawl” participation Sept. 1st AND Artwork Submissions!
Hello Chestnuts!
The Cumberland River Compact has created an opportunity for The Chestnut Group to be able to participate in the Nashville’s First Saturday Art Crawl on September 1st from 6-9pm to help publicize our coming show with them! We are in need of artwork for the show. The artwork will be for sale. The sales will be our usual 45%/10% /45% splits. We will be set up on 5th avenue under a pop up tent. If there is inclement weather, we will not participate.
Please read carefully:
We will allow a maximum of 25 pieces of artwork, one piece per artist, with the first submitted 25 pieces to be taken. Artwork must feature the Cumberland River watershed area (pretty much anything around Nashville!) The maximum size of artwork (for this event only) is 9×12. Gallery wrap artwork is acceptable for this venue, but the gallery wrap pieces must be framed for the show in October.
The title block submission for this event is due by AUGUST 28th at 5:00pm. Paintings must be brought to drop off labeled with tags, like our normal shows. The title block tag forms to be attached to the paintings are found on the member resources page. The title block submission link is here: CRC Title block link File naming format is crucial that it is correct. Please look at guidelines closely. Change the image file name to follow this format: artist name_title_medium_size_price.jpg (Please, please carefully do this. It is hard to follow up with each artist’s submission to attain the missing information)
Artwork must be dropped off at Rachel Blair’s residence on August 30th between 1pm-4pm. Unsold artwork must be picked up on Wednesday, September 5th between 1pm-4pm. Her address is 240 Boxmere Place, Nashville, TN 37215. Rachel’s contact phone number is 615-504-7201. Artwork will be carefully transported in bins to the venue and then packed and returned to Rachel’s home for pickup.
We are in need of volunteers! If you enjoy the “hip” Nashville Art Crawl scene, and feel comfortable engaging with their visitors about the artwork, plein air painting, and the CRC we would love to have you help with sales!
