Call for Painting Supplies for PYHO Pleinair 101, and NOAPS Paint Out this Week

Hello, Chestnuts,

Thursday, May 24th is the Spring Plein Air 101 and we have most of our supplies but we need some easels and paint brushes for our 12 students. If you can lend us either or both for a day please let Rachel Blair know at chestnutnew2@gmail.com. We also are asking for some empty soup cans for the Gamsol.

This is also a reminder that Thursday, May 3rd, there is a Plein Air Paintout with John Michael Carter and Dawn Whitelaw as part of the NOAPS first Spring Best of America Small Painting National Juried Exhibition week. Meet at Leiper’s Creek Gallery, 4144 Old Hillsboro Road, Franklin, TN 37064.

Times are 9am – 3pm. Park at the white church parking lot on the left, about four houses down from the gallery.

The Chestnut Group celebrates Tennessee’s immense natural blessings through painting. People are transported to wild and beautiful places by the Chestnut Group’s talented artists.

The Cumberland River Compact is so grateful to the painters for capturing and recording this beauty. Their paintings help us communicate the importance of our work. Their art shows are always a fun event that draw new as well as established art collectors. We are grateful for the Chestnut Group!

The Chestnut Group has been a partner with us at Radnor Lake State Natural Area over the past 10+ years. I have and continue to be very grateful for their efforts on several fronts, including the donation of their time and talents to help us highlight the value of scenic places such as Radnor Lake, the plant life and wildlife that reside there and perhaps most importantly helping create a "sense of place" for millions of park visitors through their efforts. I look forward to working with the Chestnut Group and Friends of Radnor Lake this year as we close in on our fall 2017 event to continue that effort and look forward to working with them for many years to come
