Anne Blair Brown January 2016 Composition Workshop
Do you want to break free from tight, overly-rendered painting?
Join Anne Blair Brown in her January 18-20, 2016 workshop and you’ll do just that! Anne will teach you to set up better compositions with spot-on values through the study of Notan, a Japanese term which refers to the balance between dark and light. Notan takes us immediately to the essence of our design in its simplest form and allows us to paint with freedom and confidence, opening us up to a more expressive style of painting.
Focus will also be placed on mixing color for perfect harmony, confident paint application, and more painterly brushwork and edges.
Student number is limited to ensure personal, one-on-one attention. Each individual will come away with a plan for bringing their paintings to a higher level.
