Profile: Sheryl Waugh

Growing up on a farm, I learned early in life that I was closest to my God when I had my feet touching the soil, my lungs breathing fresh air and my eyes viewing the vistas of this beautiful country. Farm scenes, streams and lakes, oceans and mountains all touch my heart as they stir my emotions causing me to want to paint. Other artists inspire me with their encouragement and comradely. In particular, the Chestnut group, Plein Air painters of the land, has been an inspiration to me by sharing, assisting and encouraging. In addition, I have taken many private and group workshops from major artists from areas throughout the U.S. while spending hours with my brushes in front of my canvas as I express my interpretation of what I see.
