I have loved painting since I was a little girl in my grandmother's studio. The gorgeous colors of the paint and the smells of linseed oil and mineral spirits were, and still are, so exciting for me. My formal training actually began at Miami Dade College in the late 70s and then later at Lipscomb University. However my best lessons have come from the wonderful artists around me (past and present) like Dawn Whitelaw, John Hutcheson and Elsa Richter. I would say my style leans toward the impressionistic side. One of the best lessons I've learned is not necessarily to paint every detail, but to leave room for the imagination of the viewer. With that in mind, I love to capture the reflections of the light and color in a scene and the emotiona
