Bio
Originally from Pennsylvania, JoEllen has called Middle Tennessee home since 1995. While she has always enjoyed drawing, it wasn't until 2007 that she picked up a paint brush. When she was introduced to plein air painting in a 2010 workshop with Jason Saunders, there was no turning back. Plein air painting remains her preferred venue, and she considers the landscape her studio.
A grammar school teacher full-time, she seeks opportunities to paint as often as possible, especially on weekends and during school breaks. JoEllen has been a member of the Chestnut Group since 2012.
