Bio
Diane May is a nationally recognized painter of plein air landscape. Her preference to paint from life continues in the studio where she both references her outdoor work to create larger paintings and explores the constructed reality of the still life. She paints with a representational impressionist sensibility and in her words “celebrates what she finds good and right in the world. “ She divides her time between the beauty of Tennessee, the coastal New England and Nova Scotia of her childhood, and travels throughout the U.S.,EU, and Israel. A believer in artistic community, she is a past president and founding member of the Chestnut Group, is member and past president of Plein Air Painters of the Southeast, and supports AWA,AIS,and OPA.
