Open Discussion, Any Topic or Questions/Paint Along with Roger

Description: 

Open Discussion- with both Beverly and Roger on any topic, any questions. To be prepared, create them before you come. 

The Paint Along- students and Roger will paint the same image. He will first discuss the image and his approach to the particular scene.  Once he has started the painting the students will do the same thing on their canvas. Little by little, Roger will add to his painting while students observe. After each step, students will return to their canvas and duplicate what he has done. 

Time: 10am to 12noon – Discussion

            1pm-5pm – Paint Along

Student Limit:  20 for Discussion      15 for Paint Along

Supply list:  For the discussion session:  Notepad and Pen

For the Paint Along: You may use whatever supplies you’re used to!

Some easels are provided, or bring your own plein air easel but it must fit large canvas size. Bring one canvas 16×20 up to 18×24

Paints: (bring what you are used to)  Reds– Cad Red Light, Quinacridone Rose or Alizarin.  Yellows– Cad Yellow Medium, Cad Lemon. Blues– Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt, Cerulean Blue Hue. Earth Tones– Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber, Ivory Black, Transp. Red Oxide. White– Titanium White.

Brushes- Any brushes you are used to.

((Roger uses Bristle Filberts #10, 8, 6, 4  Rosemary or Trekell; Bristle egbert  #8, 6;  Rosemary or Trekell Bristle flat #12, 8; Soft hair synthetic filbert #10, 8, 4. Rosemary MS278;   Fan brush Trekell;  Synthetic bright  #6, 4, 2.  Rosemary Ivory  Synthetic long filbert #2, 1;  Rosemary eclipse mop brushes, Rosemary (Mundy mops) Trekell or Maxines

1 –  2” chip brush from Home Depot or Lowes

2 inch softening brush, Rosemary

Large, medium and small size trowel shape palette knife

Q-tips, old credit cards, Odorless Mineral spirits only, like Gamsol, Small sketch pad and pencil, Viewfinder, Paper towels, Plastic shopping bags for trash.  Note: You may use whatever supplies you’re used to!
