3 Part – 2 Day Studio Workshop Painting Boats & Barns

Workshop Dates: Jan 4/5 – Feb 1/2 – Feb 29/March 1
This class will be a total of 6 days held over three weekends in Roger’s studio in Franklin, TN. Due to the small class size, each student will get a lot of individual instruction and inspiring group discussions.
Session 1 January 4-5— Drawing boats & barns. Concentration will be on perspective, correct proportions, different angles, and scale.
Supplies: 8×10 or larger drawing pad, pencils with eraser, ruler or straight edge.
Homework: 3 small color sketches of composition options for both boats & barns.
Session 2 February 1-2— Blocking in 1 painting of a boat and 1 painting of a barn using the best
composition for each. Supplies: 2 canvases 18×24 up to 30×40. Your choice. Paint, Brushes, Pallet, and Gamsol with container.
Session 3 February 29-March 1— Finishing your paintings.
Supplies: 2 paintings you started in Session 2, Paint, Brushes, Pallet, and Gamsol with container.
