Cumberland on Canvas Volunteer Sign Ups and Information

When framing your works, please make sure that there is at least 2″ from the top of the wire to the top of the frame, otherwise the hangers show and the piece has to be rewired.

Cumberland on Canvas Show Information

This show and sale is to benefit the Cumberland River Compact.

Dues must be current to participate in any Chestnut show. Dues are $65 and should be sent to Rachel Blair, 240 Boxmere Place, Nashville TN 37215.

You don’t have to be a seasoned member to volunteer! All are welcome and appreciated!

 

WHAT ARE THE FRAMING GUIDELINES FOR THIS SHOW?

Acceptable colors of frames are Black, Brown, Gold, Silver, Bronze Moulding Width 2”-4’” Easel paintings 3”-5”

Not accepted are Barnwood, Metal or Odd Colored frames. Gallery wrapped canvas is not accepted for this show. The goal is to have the frames in the show to be compatible with each other and present the best display.

No sawtooth picture hangers.

Wire must be at least 2” from the top of the frame when hung so hangers do not show.

 

HOW MANY PAINTINGS CAN I SUBMIT FOR THE SHOW? WHAT ARE THE SIZE REQUIREMENTS?

There is a limit of six paintings for this show.

Two of which may be a Mini size (smaller than 8×10) Only one of which can be a Large size (16×20 or larger).

Donations (formerly called silent auction paintings) can be in addition to your six allowed paintings.

Kathy Brashears will be preparing the title blocks and the following instructions are extremely important to follow.

It is important to type the information directly in the email. Do not send as an attachment.

This information is required for each painting, even for donated paintings.

 

HOW SHOULD PAINTINGS S BE LABELED?

The official painting label form is found on the Chestnut Website under Resources –

“Chestnut Show Standard Info and Forms”.

You will need three copies of this form for each painting. Attach one copy to the back of the painting. Attach another copy to the back of the painting with a ribbon (4-6” long) so the form can hang to the front of the painting for quick identification. Keep the third copy for your records. It may speed the painting pick up process if you bring this sheet with you to pick up any unsold work.

If the painting is wet, please write “Wet Paint” in red ink on the label.

 

WHEN TO DELIVER YOUR PAINTINGS TO THE BRIDGE BUILDING

Drop off the paintings at The Bridge Building, 2 Victory Ave, Suite 300 Nashville 37213 on Tuesday, April 14 from 12-5pm.

WHEN TO PICK UP YOUR UNSOLD PAINTINGS FROM THE SHOW

Pick up is at The Bridge Building from 10am-2pm on Sunday, April 19th. If you are at the center at closing time (5pm) on Saturday,

April 18, you will be able to pick up paintings. Someone will call you if you sell out.

 

WHEN IS THE SHOW OPEN FOR VIEWING AT THE BRIDGE BUILDING?

Thursday, April 16 Patron Party. 5-8:30 pm -Only for invited patrons of Cumberland River Compact and participating artists.

Friday, April 17 Open to Public 10am-8pm (happy hour from 5-7pm)

Saturday, April 18 Open to the public 10am-5pm

 

WHERE DO I PARK?

Parking is free and available adjacent to The Bridge Building.
