BioTypically, Jay only paints outside (plein air) and in one setting (alla prima) where he tries capturing a moment in time and if it works, there's a painting. If it doesn't, he scrapes it back and starts the process all over again. His paintings provide a way to hold onto a memory in a way a photograph can't. Jay's pieces hang in private collections across the US. All pieces shown here were created en plein air/alla prima.
