Tina is a native Tennessean from Memphis. She studied Interior Design at the University of TN and the New York Institute of Art and Design. Tina became a decorative artist in the 1990’s when Faux Finishes became popular as well as working as an Interior Designer on large renovation projects which included the Ryman Auditorium, Nashville, TN in 1994 and Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma, TN. She moved to AL in 2001 and began a career in real estate. Tina moved back to Middle TN in 2010 and started painting on canvas. She works with several different mediums but oil and acrylic are her favorite. Tina loves painting Angels and has always been fascinated with the religious aspect of them since she was a child. She studied Angelology: The Doctrine of Angels before starting this career. She strives to create movement through her backgrounds and the angel’s wings. Tina’s preferred painting method is with a pallet knife and she tends to lean more on abstract and impressionism than being a realist.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors for her local Art Guild and recently helped to revive the organization. Tina helped to open a gallery which has about 3000 sq. ft. and includes a lounge and working studio. The Gallery showcases the art of 39 local artists and the membership has grown to over 97 members. Tina manages the gallery and handles all aspects of the business, from supervising the staff, coordinating all art classes, workshops and exhibitions, designed their website and manages it, designs all window displays, etc. The Art Guild was recently awarded a grant through the Tennessee Arts Commission in which Tina wrote and yearly she organizes and hosts the Guild’s annual fundraiser Art Show. Tina is also very involved in her county government and community and serves as a board member on a multitude of organizations and was elected as a County Commissioner in August of 2014.
